Spirit Awards 2012: "The Artist" triumphed at the indie awards

The black and white silent film of the Frenchman Michel Hazanavicius won on Saturday, 25 February (local time) in Santa Monica, a total of four trophies for Best Film, Best Director and camera. Jean Dujardin was named best male actor. "The Artist" is nominated for ten Academy Awards.

Oscar contender Michelle Williams was honored for her incarnation of Monroe in "My Week with Marilyn" honored as Best Actress. She had, inter alia, Elizabeth Olsen ("Martha Marcy May Marlene") claims.
The prize for best screenplay went to "The Descendants - family and other matters" to Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. The "Spirit Awards" are Hollywood's alternative award for film productions, which have cost no more than $ 20 million (EUR 14.9 million). They are traditionally given one day before the Oscars in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica. The Oscars are on Sunday, 26 February the 84th Given time.
